AWC STAFF
Teresa (Tere) Haring is the Founder and
Executive Director of Allied Women's
Center, located in the beautiful, sub-tropical
resort city of San Antonio, TX.
After Allied opened its doors in August 1994, Tere officially became the center’s director in March 1995. Tere had directed a White Rose Center in Washington, D.C. prior to returning to San Antonio with her husband John and their children in 1985. She has been instrumental in the success of Allied Women’s Center, and the person most responsible for saving over 2,500 babies at Allied since it started.
Not one to seek the limelight, Tere nonetheless was given a lifetime achievement award in 2007 by the Majella Foundation. She has received high praise and recognition by different Archbishops and Bishops and is the prime reason why Allied Women’s Center has been the only independent crisis pregnancy center supported by the Archdiocese of San Antonio.
Tere and her husband, John, have six biological children and nine adopted children (15 in total), and their home has been a haven for countless women and children in need over the years. Even with her large family and responsibilities at home, Tere always makes time to help women in crisis. “This is serious. My family has always understood that. If it’s to save a baby, I’ve got to get up and go.”
The core Allied staff also includes many dedicated and trained volunteers who work tirelessly in a variety of capacities. Every team member is here to support the Center's primary mission: to save the life of the baby from abortion, and help the mother and family once they’ve made that life-affirming decision.
BOARD of DIRECTORS
Allied Women's Center is guided by a compassionate and mission-focused Board of Directors. While their backgrounds, careers, talents and skills vary widely, by design, these Board members share a common passion for helping women in crisis, and support the Center in all its mission and operational goals.
